Wildfox Couture è un giovane brand creato a Los Angeles nel 2007 dalle amiche d’infanzia Emily Faulstich e Kimberly Gordon. La coppia di designers trae ispirazione dal mondo delle favole, dai sogni, dalle t-shirts vintage, dall’amicizia, da tutto ciò che restituisce un mood fresco, giovane, affamato di vita. Wildfox Couture veste i giovani, gli adolescenti e lo fa creando looks confortevoli e cool, con un twist retrò che abbraccia i trends contemporanei.
Star Crossed Lovers è il nome scelto per la collezione autunnale, Romeo + Juliet, la versione alternative del dramma Shakespeariano ad opera di Baz Luhrmann con Leonardo di Caprio e Claire Danes, è l’ispirazione. Emily e Kimberly vestono in stile 90's la drammatica spensieratezza dei teenagers, con jeans baggy, t- shirts e pullovers con frasi ricamate come “Math sucks” o “Oh Romeo, Romeo”, lunghe gonne con motivi floreali, vestiti tartan e felpe. Nel lookbook scattato da Mark Hunter Capuleti e Montecchi non sono più eterni rivali, ma un gruppo di amici che intraprende un viaggio on the road. Sono eroi romantici, vivi e vibranti che corrono incontro alla vita e non alla morte come la storia tradizionale racconta, più Sal Paradise e Dean Moriarty, che Romeo e Giulietta. I loro abiti dalle linee morbide, confortevoli, freschi, casual, ricordano icone di un decennio livido e rivoluzionario, ritagli di un collage fatto di Winona Ryder, River Phoenix, 90210, MTV e ragazzi con lo skate.
Wildfox Couture is the young brand created in Los Angeles in 2007 by two childhood friends Emily Faulstich e Kimberly Gordon. The couple of designers takes inspiration from fairytale’s world, dreams, vintage t-shirts, friendship, from everything giving a fresh, young, life-starved mood. Wildfox Couture makes clothes for young people, for teenagers and makes it creating comfortable, cool and with a retro twist embracing contemporary trends, looks.
Star Crossed Lovers is the name choosen for the fall collection, Romeo + Juliet, the alternative version of the Shakespeare’s drama by Baz Luhrmann with Leonardo di Caprio and Claire Danes, is the inspiration. Emily e Kimberly dress teenagers’ dramatic carelessness, in 90's style, with baggy jeans, t- shirts and pullovers with sentences like “Math sucks” or “Oh Romeo, Romeo”, long floral skirts, tartan dresses and hoodies.
In the lookbook photographed by Mark Hunter Capuleti and Montecchi are no more eternal rivals, but a group of friends travelling on the road. They are romantic, lively, vibrant heroes running towards life and not towards death like the traditional story tells, more like Sal Paradise and Dean Moriarty, then like Romeo and Giulietta. Their clothes with soft lines, comfortable, fresh, casual, remind icons of a livid and revolutionary decade, frames of a collage made of Winona Ryder, River Phoenix, 90210, MTV and skater kids.
