Fashion Muse: Raez Argulla a.k.a. Cheap Trills

Uno stile “particolare”. Normalmente odio questo termine, è troppo generico, eppure se penso allo stile della nostra fashion muse di questo mese “particolare” è il primo aggettivo che mi viene in mente. Sto parlando di Raezavel Argulla, in arte semplicemente Raez, sedicenne filippina che attualmente vive in Canada e che mi ha subito colpito per i suoi outfit in cui mixa pezzi vintage e colori improponibili. Sicuramente uno stile che si differenzia e si fa notare, ma lasciamo la parola alla stessa Raez…

1. Secondo te cos’è lo stile?
Lo stile corrisponde ad un’espressione della persona, a qualsiasi cosa tu voglia essere! Penso che lo stile ed il modo in cui ti vesti rappresenti come vuoi che le persone ti vedano.

2. Quali sono gli oggetti che hai sempre in borsa e senza i quali non esci di casa?
Roba noiosa. Il mio portafogli, l’Ipod touch, un piegaciglia, le mie chiavi…

3. Quali sono i tuoi stilisti preferiti?
Giles Deacon, Vivienne Westwood, l’ultimo Alexander McQueen, Sonia Rykiel, le sorelle Mulleavy…ed anche qualcuno di più Attuale. Mi piacciono le creazioni colorate, belle, strutturate e destrutturate. Tutto ciò che è divertente e che ti fa notare.

4. Quali sono le tue modelle preferite?
Ne ho così tante! Jac Jagaciak, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, Sasha Pivovarova, Natasha Poly, Frieda Gustavsson...

5. Il tuo outfit perfetto per il giorno e per la notte?
Per me non c’è differenza tra giorno e notte. Potrei addirittura indossare sequin e farmi un trucco smoky per andare al supermercato!

6. Secondo te quali saranno i trends del 2010?
Non sono molto brava a prevedere i trends! Sinceramente spero i colori pastello e le stampe floreal, poichè ne ho l’armadio pieno!

7. Chi/cosa ispira/ha ispirato il tuo stile?
Moltissime cose, dagli altri fashion blog alla fotografia, passando per il clima, la musica e i miei amici. Amo essere ispirata, guardo ovunque per trovare ispirazione.

8. Se avessi un vestitino nero basico, come lo renderesti originale e stiloso?
Lo abbinerei a un blazer o una giacca multicolor e ridicola, e completerei il tutto con calze trasparenti, i miei fedelissimi anfibi e tantissimi anelli.

9. Customizzi i tuoi vestiti? Se si come fai?
Haha, penso di customizzare i miei vestiti ogni qual volta li indosso aggiungendo qualcosa di mio. Ma se intendi DIY (do it yourself, n.d.r.), bhe, non ne faccio uso. Mi piace da morire ed invidio chi lo usa per la grande pazienza!

10. Cosa c’è nella tua wish list?
Un cappello di paglia, rossetto arancione flou o fucsia, gli aviator Rayban, calze trasparenti folli per la primavera, e voglio ancora mettere le mani su una giacca leopardata!

11. Con i tacchi o senza?
Senza! Preferibilmente con i miei anfibi. Credo tutto sommato di aver bisogno di imparare prima a camminarci, sui tacchi.

12. C’è qualcosa nel tuo armadio che ti crea imbarazzo?
Non più! Ho buttato via tutte le cose brutte anni fa!

13. L’oggetto più amato nel tuo gaurdaroba.
Oh!E’ difficile...ho così tanti pezzi che adoro! Ma se proprio devo scegliere, dico i miei anfibi vintage, la mia giacca di pelle con frange vintage, e ancora vintage con i miei shorts Levi’s.

14. Come mai hai deciso di avere un tuo blog?
Ho aperto un blog due anni fa come un modo per esprimere quali trend mi piacessero o meno, ma non necessariamente per esprimere il mio stile personale. Sinceramente ho iniziato a postare i miei outfit solo pochi mesi fa! Ora ho il io blog per condividere la mia prospettiva sulla moda e sullo stile, e per incontrare persone che la pensino come me e che abbiano pensieri e stili interessanti.

1. In your opinion what is style?
Style equals personal expression, whatever you want to be! I think style and the way you dress represents how you want others to see you as.
2. Which are the items that are always in your bag and that you don’t go out without?
Boring stuff. My wallet, iPod touch, cellphone, an eyelash curler, my keys...
3. Which are your favorite designers?
Giles Deacon, Vivienne Westwood, the late Alexander McQueen, Sonia Rykiel, the Mulleavy sisters...and quite a bit more actually. I'm into the pretty, the colourful, the structured or unstructured. Anything that's fun and makes you look twice.
4. Which are your favorite models?
I have so many! Jac Jagaciak, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, Sasha Pivovarova, Natasha Poly, Frieda Gustavsson...
5. Your perfect outfit for the morning/Your perfect outfit for the night.
There's no such thing as day and night for me. I'm going to wear sequins and smoky eyes to the grocery store if I want to!
6. In your opinion, which is the 2010 trend?
Ah...I'm bad with trends! I'm hoping it's brights and pastels and florals. Because my closet is suddenly full of them.
7. Who/ What inspires/inspired your style?
Lot's of things, from other stylish blogs, to photography, the weather, music and my friends. I love being inspired, I look everywhere for inspiration.
8. If you had a basic black dress, how would you make it original and stylish?
I'd pair it with a ridiculous, multicolored blazer or jacket, and finish it off with sheer tights, my trusty combat boots, and lots of rings.
9. Do you customize your clothes?
If yes, how do you do it? Haha, I think I customize my clothes every time I wear them, you know, adding my own twist. But if you mean DIY, then, I usually don't do them. I love them though, and admire others for their patience!
10. Which are the items in your wish list now?
A straw boating hat, bright orange or fuschia lipstick, Rayban aviators, some crazy awesome sheer patterned tights for spring, and I still want to get my hands on a leopard jacket!
11. Heels or flats?
Flats! Preferably my combat boots. Besides, I think I need to learn how to walk in heels first:)
12. Is there an item in your wardrobe that you are embarrassed about?
Not anymore! Threw out all of the bad stuff ages ago.
13. The most loved item you have in your wardrobe.
Oh! That's hard, I have so many pieces I'm just in love with! If I had to narrow it down, I'd go with my vintage combat boots and vintage fringe leather jacket, and ever so present vintage Levi's cut offs.
14. Why did you start writing on your blog?
I started a blog two years ago as a way of expressing what trends I liked or hated, but not necessarily my own personal style. I actually didn't start posting my own outfits until a few months later! Now I blog to share my perspective of style and fashion, and to meet like minded people who have interesting thoughts and styles.
