Lazy Oaf's cartoons

Lazy Oaf è un brand di fashion street fondata nel 2001 da Gemma Shiel.

Inizia la sua attività, che ora comprende anche knitwear e scarpe ed è distribuita in tutto il mondo, realizzando t-shirts da uomo nel garage del padre.

Parlando della sua moda Gemma dice: “ Lo stile delle mie illustrazioni è quello dei cartoni animati, così ci deve essere sempre un elemento che li richiami nelle nostre collezioni. Voglio che i miei abiti siano giocosi e facciano ridere la gente senza scadere nel cattivo gusto”.

Lo stile Lazy Oaf, infatti, è caratterizzato da grafiche spiritose, ispirate al mondo dei cartoons e della cultura pop, technicolor, vivaci, strane, caricaturali.

La collezione fw 2012-13 ricorda una striscia di fumetti popolata da Batman, teschi, faccine sorridenti, fette di angurie, fiori e scheletri che campeggiano su maglioncini, vestiti e sulle magliette.

E’ una linea chiassosa, divertente, ironica, perfetta per teenagers nostalgici degli anni 90, ma anche estremamente portabile e confortevole.

She starts her business, that now includes also knitwear and shoes and it’s distributed all over the world, making t-shirts for men in her dad’s garage.

Talking about her own fashion Gemma says: “My illustration style is very cartoony, so there’s always got to be an element of that in our collection.

I want my clothing to be playful and make people smile in not too much of a cheesy way”.

Lazy Oaf’s style, in fact, is characterized by funny graphics, inspired by the catoons’ world and the one of pop culture, technicolor, bright, odd, caricature.

Te aw 2012-13 collection reminds a comic strip populated by Batman, skulls, smileys, watermelon slices , flowers and skeletons, standing out on the jumpers, on the dresses and on the t-shirts.

It’s a loud line, funny, ironic, perfect for teenagers nostalgic of 90s, but also very portable and comfortable.
