L'umorismo nero di Joan Cornellà

Joan Cornellà, Barcellona classe 1981, è l'artista le cui vignette stanno spopolando su Facebook.

Sceglie di ritrarre situazioni un pò scomode, dissacranti, è un pò il Quentin Tarantino dei fumetti, dichiaratamente splatter, dall'ironia distaccata e cinica, ride della morte e definisce questa ilarità citando un personaggio di Beckett che dice "niente è più divertente della disgrazia", cioè la morte quando arriva ci coglie di sorpresa e per essa possiamo solo o ridere o piangere.

Rende le sue immagini autonome dall'uso della parola, le rende immediate e universalmente interpretabili, spinge così anche a creare nella nostra mente discorsi fittizi a nostro piacimento, lasciando così anche molto spazio alla libera interpretazione.

Cornellà è abituato alle critiche e agli insulti che lo definiscono un insensibile figlio di puttana razzista, ma lui è ben lontano dal dare un'impronta politica alle sue vignette, che vuole anzi si mantengano sempre alienate da qualsiasi fazione e in sua difesa ribatte:

"Suggerisco ai lettori di svegliarsi la mattina e fare esercizio. Sorridere molto, provare a sorridere ogni giorno fino ad ottenere il sorriso perfetto. Non dimenticate di sorridere quando andate al bagno e quando siete ad un colloquio di lavoro. E anche se avete la dissenteria ad un colloquio di lavoro, non esitate a sorridere con il vostro sorriso perfetto".

Don't forget to smile when you go to the bathroom and when you're in a job interview. And even if you have dysentery to a job interview, do not hesitate to smile with your perfect smile".
