Anxiety portrait - Eric Shaw

Eric Shaw è un artista assurdo, che non ha una base accademica, che fuma erba aspirando da zucchini giganti, e che si immerge in opere psichedeliche e disorientanti che sembrano fare riferimento ad antichi rituali Maya.

Si è avvicinato all'arte iniziando per puro caso a customizzare t-shirts durante un concerto, ha proseguito customizzando degli skateboard per gli amici, ed è infine approdato alla pittura vera e propria, di cui ora non riesce a fare a meno durante tutto l'arco delle sue giornate o almeno alternatamente alle feste in casa con i coinquilini.

A guardare le sue opere, sensazioni contrastanti ci assalgono, tra cui soprattutto l'ansia, perchè raccoglie una serie di simboli, colori e forme che non tendono ad armonizzarsi o a comunicare fra loro, ma che anzi creano caos e disordine, tanto a volte da sembrare opere in movimento, in base alle quali è stato fatto anche un video in cui queste vengono animate ma senza un preciso criterio: la vera essenza dell'arte di Eric Shaw d'altronde.

Eric Shaw is a crazy artist, that has not an academic base, that smokes inhaling from gigantic squashes, and that it is immersed in psychedelic and confusing works that seem do reference to ancient Mayan ritual. He approached to the art beginning for pure case to customize t-shirts during a concert, continued customizing the skateboard for his friends, and finally landed at the true and actual painting, of whom now does not succeed to do except for during all of the arch of his days or at least alternately to the parties at home with the co-tenants.  To look at his works, contrasting feelings attack us, among which above all the anxiety, because collects a series of symbols, colors and shapes that don't stretch out to match to each other or to communicate between them, but that create chaos and disorder, a lot  that they seem works in motion, based on which was done also a video in which these one come enlivened but without a precise criterion: the true essence of the art Of Eric Shaw.
