Saint Laurent adds its name to the list of brands who are going back to haute couture in opposition to the growing business of fast fashion. After Fendi, Jean Paul Gaultier and Viktor & Rolf, Hedi Slimane decided to bring the Parisian house to its old splendors.
Since 2012, when he took the helm of Saint Laurent, the designer decided to recompose the traditional couture ateliers of the house, that also deal with the realization of costumes for cinema and musicians. After 12 years from its last show, when Yves was still alive, the first Saint Laurent haute couture collection is ready and Slimane catched it in a series of black and white images shot at Hôtel de Sénecterre in Paris.
