UNO's New Special Edition Is Inspired by Keith Haring's Street Art In collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation

A few months after unveiling the contemporary version of UNO Minimalista, Mattel has presented a new special edition of its iconic card game, this time inspired by the works of Keith Haring, one of the precursors of street art.

The deck features a range of customized cards, each with a design that is synonymous with Haring's work and his street aesthetic, created in collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation, which for the last thirty years has been managing Haring's artistic legacy while supporting various non-profit arrangements that assist children in the education, prevention and treatment of AIDS.

First published in 1971, in almost 50 years of life, UNO has been the protagonist of several collaborations and special editions inspired by different characters of contemporary pop culture, from Barbie to Spongebob, Harry Potter and The Simpsons. The deck inspired by Keith Haring is the second collaboration from the Artiste Series, the series of game packages realized by Mattel to pay homage to the work of several artists, after the first inspired by the work of Jean-Michael Basquiat. In this case, Haring's immediately recognizable works of art were also used to slightly change the rules of the game: instead of simply relying on colours, with this special deck players can match the cards also according to the work of the art depicted.

The UNO Artiste Series deck n. Keith Haring-inspired 2 consists of 112 cards and can be purchased online on Macy's site for $ 19.99.
