Mattel UNO Goes Minimal
The legendary card game by Mattel unveils a new-designed 'UNO Minimalista' edition
March 26th, 2020
For every millennial reading, UNO is the most iconic game of their childhood. Students from all around the world chose it to keep the company during every school bus-trip (especially in the Mid-90s), making it the coolest must-have and every kid's favourite hobby. Almost 50 years after its first release, Mattel most famous game comes back in a new version: UNO Minimalista, featuring a new ultra-contemporary design.
While the quarantine gets harder, alternatives to killing time begin to lack: if you already devoured your Netflix and Prime Video library, at least on March 24th, 2020 Disney+ has come to rescue. But streaming is not your only option: there's nothing better than a card game to shake your routine up. Raise your hand if you never felt like a king in the rush of screaming "Uno!" while you were getting close to your victory, or showing to your next player the infamous +4 card.
UNO is not new to makeovers: over the years, there have been a lot of limited and special editions, from Harry Potter's and The Simpsons' to the one inspired by the artworks of Jean-Michel Basquiat. The latest version of Mattel card game is UNO Minimalista, a minimalist remake designed by Brazilian artist Warleson Oliveira. This new design obeys the law of "less is more" and has an extremely contemporary aesthetic, featuring a premium blacked-out rear face and vibrant colours on its front.
