Carly Hunter SS 2012 Collection

Carly Hunter è una designer austaliana con base a Perth. Studia moda e disegno tessile alla Western Australian School of Art Design and Media e nel 2007 fonda la sua label. Il suo stile è geometrico, pulito, minimale, quasi rilassata. Carly ama giocare tra maschile e femminile, ricreare linee simmetriche, sperimentare con i tagli. L’ispirazione le viene da cose impalpabili, come i suoi abiti, per esempio dalla luce, dall’oscurità, dal silenzio, dalla scienza. 

Per la collezione primavera-estate 2012 presenta Polymorphic light explosion, colori come rosa cipria, verde oliva, bianco e nero sono sinonimo di eleganza ed i materiali, seta ed organza, sono simbolo di bellezza eterea, delicata e leggera. Le linee sono decostruite, le giacche sono oversized e le gonna maxi. La designer parlando della sua collezione spiega: “Volevo mostrare questo contrasto negli atteggiamenti nei confronti della luce e del caldo estivi nella collezione con vivace pura seta e organza rasato canottiera e shorts e più pesanti, dai toni scuri soprabiti in lino ed abiti e gonne di maggiore lunghezza".

Carly Hunter is an australian fashion designer based in Perth. She studies fashion and textile design at the Western Australian School of Art Design and Media and, in 2007, she founded her label. Her style is geometric, clean, minimal, almost relaxed. Carly loves to play with male and female, to ricreate symmetrical lines, to experiment with the cuts. The inspiration comes from undefinable things, like her dresses, for example from light, darkness, silence, science.

For the ss 2012 collection she presents Polymorphic light explosion. The colours, pale pink, olive green, white, black, and the materials, silk and organdie, are both ethereal, soft, light. The lines are deconstructed, the blazers are oversized, the skirts maxi, the trousers have cuts  on the knees, but also the dresses have some of them.

The designer about her collection says: “I wanted to show this contrast in attitudes toward the summer light and heat in the collection with bright sheer silk and organza in cropped tanks and shorts and then heavier, darker toned linen coats and longer skirts and dresses”. 

Carly Hunter’s fashion is comfortable, low profile, minimal, elegant.
