Fred Perry presents the new Sharp collection
The favourite items of the British subculture scene revisited with a contemporary twist
April 24th, 2020
No other brand like Fred Perry went through the ages exploring the deep roots of British music and culture, becoming and establishing until today as a symbol of individuality and belonging. From tennis courts to mod clubs, from punk raves to Britpop heroes' live shows, the iconic laurel wreath defined and dressed all the major British underground cultures. Now as then, that logo sewn on the chest embodies a universe of music, rebellion and street life where kids can identify themselves and tell the world who they are.
That's why items like the Polo Shirt or the Harrington jacket remain timeless icons, able to update themselves while remaining faithful to their history. As in the new Sharp collection, in which Fred Perry interprets these and the other favourite pieces of British subcultures with a fresh and contemporary twist, giving new details to the clean lines of the original models.
Sartorial tradition meets sportswear; essential lines are enriched by gingham patterns, vertical stripes and diamonds. Self-expression is encouraged by new elements, such as the lapels on the sleeves and zippers, which take the collection to a higher level and suit the most avant-garde customers' desires. The tape appears in contrast on the Polo Shirts or in the two-tone version on the tracksuit. The Harrington jacket is embellished with a laurel wreath in the gold version, while the parka is in optical white. The V-neck sweater and knitted shirts evolve thanks to new structured fabrics and sophisticated finishes. All ranging in shades of cobalt, pink, red and ice white.
The Sharp collection is available on Fred Perry's official website.
