Rankin celebrate International Dance Day
Serious 'Dad' shapes thrown
May 4th, 2018
As you may have missed, this passed Sunday, April 29th was International Dance Day. The cast of The Full Service asked everyone to contribute to their 2018 film #GETDANCING. Rankin took the occasion to heart and instead of just being behind the camera, took the chance to step out and deliver a rather epic ‘Dad’ Dance.
Known mainly for their mokumentary Le chaise Ironique, this time the director and photographer show off throwing some serious shapes in skeleton onesies, that really just has to be seen to be believed.
"I was at a loss to know what to do, so I thought I’d take the mickey out of myself! Doing my own bit in front of the camera was silly and exhausting – showing people that I don’t take myself too seriously is one of my favourite pass times. It was also amazing to see the other contributions for the project come in. Some of them were hilarious, some of them were beautiful, some of them were weirdly wonderful. That’s why I love doing open submissions, people never fail to surprise me."
We can only hope that Rankin’s dream of ‘Dad dancing’ becoming a professional form of physical expression will come true for all to enjoy more of in the future!
