Apple, giant of the most sophisticated and advanced technology, is considering the idea of buying Tidal, streaming service competitor of its Apple Music.
Words printed on the pages of the Wall Street Journal, which hinted at ''exploratory talks'' without specifying any terms of the passage. According to the American newspaper, Apple would be interested in the exclusivity of the platform's products, result of the privileged relationships of Jay Z with artists such as Kanye West, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Prince, Neil Young, Arcade Fire, Daft Punk, Jack White, J. Cole, Jason Aldean, Madonna, Nicki Minaj and Usher, who have all decided to premiere their work on the service.
In recent months, Tidal has managed to have some privilege - see Kanye West’s album The Life Of Pablo or Beyoncé’s visual album, Lemonade.
It remains to understand how much Cupertino is willing to invest to bring this rich haul on Apple Music. Its acquisition would allow Apple to raze all its competitors, including Spotify. Stay tuned.
