During his Would You Like A Tour? show in Portland last December 3, 2013 Drake has announced he had signed a deal with Jordan brand with these words: “Today also happens to be one of the best days of my life. Growing up, I’m sure we all idolized this guy, he goes by the name of Michael Jordan. So today, I came to Portland and officially became inducted into the Team Jordan family”. Jordan brand has announced its partnership with Drake via Twitter, writing: “He’s home. Welcome the newest member of #TeamJordan: @Drake”.
After a while Drake shared on his Instagram profile 2 previews of his Jordan collaboration: Air Jordan 10 and Air Jordan 12 “OVO/Stringay”.
After a year’s break without any news about the imminent collaboration, the rapper, during “Drake Night” hosted by The Raptors - Drizzy is the Global Ambassador of the Toronto Raptors NBA team - gave away 2 pairs (one white and the other black) of the Air Jordan 10 OVO to some lucky fans attending the event. Both the shoes ended up on Ebay pretty fast at astronomic prices (we talk about 100,000 $).
The Air Jordan 10 OVO is a limited edition between Jordan brand and Drake's record label as well as clothing line October's Very Own, of which OVO is the acronym. The silhouette was originally released in two colours, white/gold and black, both launched with a surprise release at OVO pop-up store in Los Angeles last April 2015.
The white version made its debut on September 12, 2015 in limited quantity, while the black version will be out next February 13, 2016, one of the most awaited release of the All-Star weekend.
The Air Jordan 10 "OVO" black is dressed with a black premium quality leather and on the insole we can see the OVO logo, the classic owl printed in gold. You can find it this Saturday at One Block Down, only retailer in Italy for this incredible launch.
