For its second collaboration with Cassina, One Block Down has designed a reinterpretation of the Zig Zag, a 1930s design icon conceived by Gerrit T. Rietveld for mass production. With this project, One Block Down renews its partnership with Cassina, a union born in 2022 with the aim of creating unique designs.

This year, thanks to an in-depth study by the creative teams of the respective brands, the history of the object will be enriched through the use of three colours for a limited edition that rediscovers the design of the first collab, the wooden structure superimposed on metal panels. Rich in historical references related to the De Stijl art movement, One Block Down and Cassina have honoured Gerrit T. Rietveld's colour choices by incorporating the shades of the original chair in their new design and using two contrasting materials, wood and metal. The release of this limited edition will be accompanied by a special campaign, shot in Milan's Scarioni public swimming pool, offering a perfect contrast between the vibrant red, yellow and blue tones of the new Zig Zag and the nostalgic greyness of the pool.

The collaboration will be online on One Block Down from 24 February at 9.00am CET.
