5 things you have to know about the Victoria's Secret's show in NY
November 11th, 2015
Yesterday the Victoria’s Secret’s angels showed up in New York and the media of the whole world reunited to document the most awaited lingerie show of the year. On the runway we saw 15 angels – accurately selected among the most popular (and followed) models on Earth – and 32 models, without wings, to complete this idyllic tableau made out of feathers and diamonds.
Once again the show was the opportunity to give life to an authentic show, with three huge live performances: even if Rihanna declined her invitation to perform at the last minute, her colleagues Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding and The Weeknd replaced her successfully. The international jet set gathered for a night under the sign of the wings, and we’re about to reveal you 5 hot curiosities about the event:
#1 The angels don’t wake up exactly like this. If you thought the girls on the runway were kind of extraterrestrials, calm down: they undergo a whole day of hair and make up before they hit the runway.
#2 One of the bras on the runway costs more than your house. Every year there’s an item on the runway which is half way between underwear and haute jewellery. This year the object was entrusted to model Lily Aldridge, who wore a “Fantasy bra” worth 2 million dollars.
#3 Caitlyn Jenner eclipsed everyone. Among the special guests of the night there was of course Caitlyn, who came to support her daughter Kendall, for the first time on the brand’s catwalk. No one from the Kardashian clan was there instead, except from mum Kris: “We wanted to avoid too much clamour” said Kendall.
#4 Rihanna defended her friend Jourdan Dunn. Even if Riri declared she couldn’t be there because she was too busy recording her next album, rumors say the real reason is that her friend Jourdan wasn’t chosen to walk the show this season.
#5 The after party is all about pizza. Before the show there’s a lot of diet and sacrifices for the girls. They can stand it thinking that, after the show, they all take part into a private pizza party, far from indiscrete eyes.
