The Denim x Alexander Wang Campaign Is NSFW
December 4th, 2014
Alexander Wang is launching a new line entirely dedicated to denim.
The designer announced the news, then confirmed by the site WWD, posting on his brand's Instagram profile two images accompanied by the caption "#ComingSoon ... #DENIMxAW #AWLaunch".
In the advertising campaign by Steven Klein the model Anna Ewers is portrayed abandoned on a chair, naked and sprinkled with oil, with jeans lowered ankles and the script "Denim x Alexander Wang" strategically placed over her nipples.
Even more explicit detail of the girl's hand on the private parts, jeans unbuttoned. Just a few words and, above all, a couple shots is to unleash the curious. The American designer, fresh from the success of the collaboration with H&M, focuses on explicit sensuality and eroticism.
"Once you see, you can not stop thinking about it"
"I wanted to create provocative images, I did not mean only that they were sexy, but also that they were able to unleash a real debate. I'm not dictating what that message is exactly. The interesting part is to see how people interpret it, and what they have to say about it. Of course, there are going to be people who disagree with it."
The idea is to follow the tradition of Calvin Klein, of its iconic and controversial campaigns, that, in the 90s, from the pages of magazines turned into posters that covered the walls of teenagers, and not only that, across the world.
The collection is a triple variation on the theme of denim washes in indigo, indigo and black.
The model 001E Wang tight, high waist that fits snugly around the figure. The 002 has a relaxed silhouette and fabric does not stretch, while Wang 003 is a personal interpretation of boyfriend jeans because with the designer explains: ´ I hate it when you roll them and your ankle is swimming, so I cut it so you roll it twice and it stays pegged.ª
If advertising seems already a success, for the line to wait for the arrival in stores on December 8th.
