Everybody loves bedazzled denim
The western-glam style that conquered Beyoncé, Pharrell and Chanel

With the arrival of cold temperatures, it's time to change wardrobes and welcome autumn trends. Among this season's novelties, a new interpretation of denim emerges, moving away from the classic minimalist style to embrace a more eye-catching look. Always appreciated for their practicality, jeans this year take center stage thanks to customizations with pearls, rhinestones, crystals, and fringes. The trend of decorated denim started to gain attention in the early months of the year, when at Fashion Week FW24 several brands showcased the trend on the runway. Leading the way was Louis Vuitton Men, designed by Pharrell, who drew inspiration from western culture with a glam touch; or Undercover, where creative director Jun Takahashi presented jeans not only with golden threads but also mixed fabrics combining denim with fleece or color blocks. Also, Gucci, for the Resort 2025 collection, presented jeans adorned with embroidered daisies or long, sparkling fringes, while for FW24, British designer Stella McCartney reimagined the western style through glittering denim. In recent months, the trend has also established itself in pop culture, with high-profile celebrities like Beyoncé opting for total denim looks. The singer wore jeans adorned with brilliant embroidery during the campaign for her western album Cowboy Carter, while fellow pop superstar Taylor Swift wore glittering jeans by New York brand AREA at the Super Bowl event.
With the SS25 fashion shows, decorated denim has definitively conquered the fashion world. Coperni showcased icy-toned jeans completely covered in salt crystals. The sparkling, fairytale effect integrated perfectly with the magical setting of Sleeping Beauty's Castle at Disneyland Paris, where the show took place. Gucci offered a new vision of decorated denim, adopting a more subdued and refined approach: creative director Sabato De Sarno presented wide-leg, two-tone jeans with strips of light and dark fabric stitched together in an elegant design. Finally, even Chanel couldn't resist the appeal of this trend, launching two different embroidered denim models: the first, straight jeans decorated with crystals arranged in a feather shape, presented in a total-denim look; the second, more understated, embellished with sparkling rhinestones applied to the hems. Besides Milan and Paris, the trend also appeared on the New York runways. Californian brand Libertine focused on denim enriched with diamonds and colorful patches bearing the brand's name, while Ralph Lauren combined his classic preppy style with ripped jeans, offered in both male and female versions. Finally, Stella McCartney returns, exploring the trend in various new versions, from double-hem jeans to those embellished with chains sewn onto tears and openings in the fabric, to models with black leather chaps, once again inspired by typical cowboy clothing. In short, this autumn, fashion has decided that to stay warm, no down jackets or furs will be needed, but rather a rich layer of pearls and rhinestones.
