Playboy presents its first denim line
The magazine's first step into the denim market
December 7th, 2022
Playboy, who has appeared in dozens of collaborations with as many brands, has decided to venture into fashion by announcing his first denim line. The collection consists of 18 pieces, including skinny, low-rise, skater, high-waist, flare, straight, and other jeans. It plays on the symbolism of the magazine by reusing prints and washes such as waxed black, camouflage print, pink stone wash, and classic denim blue, all featuring the iconic Bunny logo.
All of the brand's signature logos (Rabbit Head and Masthead logos) have been reinterpreted and embellished with graphics, patches, and prints. «We have seen strong demand for denim associated with the Playboy brand through our licensing partnerships and are excited to launch the first denim line in time for the holiday season», Ashley Kechter, PLBY Group President of Global Consumer Products, told WWD. «We look forward to continuing to grow our own business and will leverage these new product lines across the Playboy ecosystem, including through our strong network of contacts», she concluded. «The development of the Playboy Denim assortment is the merging of two American icons: Playboy as an iconic American brand and denim as an iconic American sportswear category,» said Jason Mahler, PLBY Group Vice President of Design.
With a retail price between $80 and $110, the collection is available online at Playboy's website.
