Hélas Winter 2020 collection
The French skate brand returns with a new capsule inspired by the mountains and winter sports
December 8th, 2020
Over the last few seasons, within the European and international skate scene, Hélas has reached a respectable position thanks to original collections, that while not betraying the original DNA of the brand, are open to new suggestions and aesthetics.
The perfect blend of skate soul and fashion approach can now be found in the brand's new collection, with the Winter 2020 proposal. The brand with the umbrella logo, founded by skaters Lucas Puig, Clément Brunel and Stephen Khou, this time has chosen to draw inspiration from winter sports, thus proposing a hybrid wardrobe, halfway between performance and comfort.
It's especially in the materials used - first of all the fleece - and in the silhouettes, always oversized, with the addition of turtle necks and matelassé pieces, that the brand has best expressed this inspiration, along with the iconic graphics and logo they made Hélas famous. The key pieces of the drop are the padded "Paddy" sets, the "Panda" fleeces, the "Falco" fleece shirts, and the "Himalaya", "Mountain" and "Cloudio" graphics complete a wardrobe made up of jeans, t-shirts and hoodie featuring the umbrella logo that has defined the brand's style for years.
To showcase this new collection, the brand teamed up with the Spanish photographer Tomas Codina who shot the lookbook in Barcelona portraying three skaters and friends of the brand - Pedro Attenborough, Fidel Baltazar and Antoine Volle as models.
Hélas thus confirms itself as one of the most interesting brands of the industry, thanks to an ironic vision of fashion, and although coming from a very specific and defined context, such as the skate scene, is not afraid to experiment.
