The new modular jacket by C.P. Company x Kiko Kostadinov
Halfway between workwear and military clothing
December 1st, 2020
C.P. Company was the first brand in which the great Massimo Osti (who would later found Stone Island) experimented with all his creativity in textile innovation focusing mainly on workwear and military clothing as a base of inspiration. Precisely these are the two areas that the avant-garde designer Kiko Kostadinov has re-imagined and re-interpreted for his new Sinesis jacket, created in limited edition and in collaboration with the brand using CO-TED fabric, a combination of nylon taslanized and monofilament with water-resistant interior coatings.
Building on the silhouette of a biker jacket, Kostadinov has equipped his design with a series of modular details and visual references both to his cultural background of origin and to the archive of C.P. Company. First and most striking detail is the addition of the fishtail typical of the 60s parka popularized by English Mods, to which are added other details with a sartorial flavour such as the tweezers and cuts on the sleeves, the folds that favour movement in the shoulder blades, a removable gait for the neck and three-level adjustable cuffs with Velcro. On the other hand, the elasticated, zippered, hidden and oversized pockets are more functional, and the classic C.P. Company lens has been moved from the traditional position on the sleeve to the left side of the chest, creating a visual balance between the lens and the triple snap closure of the neck.
