The new Formy Studio 'Bipolar Disorder' collection
Chromatic contrasts and unique graphics in the capsule designed by Domenico Formichetti
October 2nd, 2020
In each of his collections, Domenico Formichetti has accustomed us to crazy designs, that melt silhouettes and items typical of the streetwear imaginary with graphics and patterns of much more difficult interpretation. The new collection by Formy Studio, entitled Bipolar Disorder, is no exception. The starting point in the creation of this capsule was the exploration of contrasting concepts, perfectly reflected in the chromatic choice not only of the garments but also of the lookbook. The black and white that characterizes the images is in fact a metaphor of the contrast that exists between vices and virtues, two behaviours that are only partially antithetical, but that if viewed from a different perspective tend to resemble each other.
The graphics depicting a space skeleton named Apollo are the true protagonist of the collection, a figure whose task is to move the sun around the galaxy every day. His skeleton lights up the darkness like a lighthouse as he shoots his arrows from a golden bow. Other graphics in the collection are inspired by the imagery of Alice in Wonderland, with characters such as the Mad Hatter and the Knight of Shadows. Within the collection, we also find trucker jackets, jeans, hoodies, snapbacks, a set with three pins, socks, masks and a special bucket hat. Some of these garments also boast glow-in-the-dark details.
The new Formy Studio collection will be officially unveiled at LS29 Urban Market in Mantova on Saturday, October 3 in an exclusive pop-up from 3 pm to 8 pm. In addition to the pop-up, the Mantua store has organized a series of activities that include a basketball court customized by Formichetti himself. To take part in the event you need to register here.
