The new Supreme x Daniel Johnston collection
The drop of the SS20 collection will take place on May 14
May 11th, 2020
For his SS20 collection, Supreme collaborated posthumously with Texan singer-songwriter and visual artist Daniel Johnston – whose graphics had already been used by The James Jebbia brand in 2012 and 2015. Johnston had gained fame in the art world thanks to his visual and musical works that drew inspiration from the difficult experience of their creator – tormented throughout his life, ended last September 11, by mental health problems.
Johnston's artworks are featured on the items throughout the collection, the most notable of which is Jeremiah The Innocent, the frog that featured on the cover of his 1983 album Hi How Are You, featured on shirts, hats, trousers and t-shirts. Other images from his comic Space Ducks – An Infinite Comic Book of Musical Greatness and the illustrated book The Silver Sufferer feature on hoodies and t-shirts. Two shirts with all-over rayon prints complete the collection.
The new Supreme x Daniel Johnston collection will be available from May 14 on Supreme's web-shop with free shipping for orders over 150 euros.
