Supreme collaborated with Marithé + François Girbaud for the Spring 2025 collection

Paris and New York, two streetstyle icons compared

Supreme collaborated with Marithé + François Girbaud for the Spring 2025 collection Paris and New York, two streetstyle icons compared

There are loves that bloom unexpectedly, in the midst of spring. This is the case of Marithè + François Girbaud x Supreme, a truly surprising equation that combines the American urban charm of the red box logo brand with the vintage aesthetics of the French label. The collaboration merges the two legacies into a single capsule, uniting New York and Paris through a precise selection of materials and silhouettes. The collection is infused with contemporary sensibility but is deeply influenced by the vintage world of Marithè + François Girbaud. Workwear and sportswear are revisited and elevated through innovative forms. The Leather Flight Bomber Jacket, the Denim Trucker Jacket, and the Down Puffer Vest are timeless pieces, while the Baggy Jean and the Leather Cargo Pant represent an ode to the rebellious spirit of the French brand; among the most distinctive offerings are the Camp Cap and the Tote Bag, designed for those who love adding unique statement pieces to their looks.

Founded in 1972 to redefine the concept of denim, the French maison Marithé + François Girbaud represented a breakthrough moment for fashion at the time, just as Supreme has done. Exploring the world of denim from a new perspective, no longer focused solely on durability but also on aesthetics and the search for new styles, the brand has played a significant role in the development of street style in Europe from the '70s to today. It was the founders of the brand, Marithé Bachellerie and François Girbaud, who introduced the first pre-washed denim in history, when in the 1960s they began washing jeans in laundromats in Paris. They also brought unique innovations to denim history, such as moleskin and corduroy, culminating in the revolutionary X-pocket in the 1980s. Now, with a new collaboration with Supreme, the brand seems ready to add a new chapter to its story, returning to its roots while embracing the support of the New York titan. Who knows if, after the first drop, they have more surprises in store.
