One of the most exciting new sneakers to come from adidas Originals recently has without a doubt been their latest P.O.D silhouette. Taking its starting point from the rich heritage of adidas’s collective memory, the P.O.D can be loosely broken down into three different technological sections and eras of development. Its EVA supportive cushioning in the forefoot, that was introduced in the mid-nineties, its most recent, popular Boost technology in the heel, resulting in a refined evolution of the iconic Torsion technology. The Torsion technology that graced many of adidas’s most beloved silhouettes throughout the nineties, allows for a free and natural movement between the forefoot and heel. The combined result is a progression of classic technology, contextualized into a clean and modern perspective.

First released last month in a mainly black edition, with neon yellow, and light blue detailing, adidas Originals has now announced the release of a new two-tone classic black and white colorway. For the upper, the P.O.D-S3.1 model receives a knitted textile construction, reinforced by structural overlays, a branded heel tab, and a 3-stripe mark, giving the unique Point of Deflection System P.O.D-S3.1 silhouette its name. 

Along with the release adidas Originals presents a new campaign for the occasion. The campaign is underpinned by the unifying ethos, Great alone, better together the campaign imagery leans toward the intersection of the P.O.D archival references while incorporating its contemporary forward-thinking design perspective.

The P.O.D-S3.1 silhouette releases in its Black and White colorway on August 2nd, available for both men and women.
