Milan Film Festival has begun
Here's everything you need to know
March 6th, 2024
The eleventh edition of the Milan Film Festival kicked off today, five days of events and exhibitions with over thirty titles on the program and five awards, ready to illuminate the Milanese cultural scene from March 6th to 10th. An initiative aimed at telling and adding insights to the panorama of design and architecture through cinema, the eleventh edition of the festival occupies the spaces of Triennale Milano and the Palazzo del Cinema Anteo. The event is curated by Cristiana Perrella and offers a program rich in panels and immersive talks, this year focused on the transformation of the world, on social, political, and environmental challenges. The films selected for this edition of the Milan Film Festival explore themes such as sustainability, circularity, and innovation using the most contemporary conceptions of design and architecture. From Green Architecture to issues related to the future generation, from reflecting on the relationship between space and society to experiences that blend fashion, food, and design, MDFF 11 aims to be an open window on the multiple facets of the world of design.
The festival not only presents already established works but also strives to discover new talents through the MDFF STUDENT AWARD, which highlights short films made by design and architecture students. The event will culminate with the screening of winning films, award ceremonies, and a gala evening celebrating the combination of design, cinema, and culture. Not just a film festival, but also an opportunity to reflect on the crucial role of design in our contemporary society, the festival stimulates debate and innovation in an international context, supporting inclusion with the initiative MDFF Around The World. This project aims to bring the festival to new international contexts, promoting dialogue on design and activating collaborations with cultural institutions, universities, and other institutions worldwide. Thanks to this initiative, MDFF is not just a local event but a global catalyst for reflection and inspiration in the world of design and architecture.
