Angeline Oei FW 2013 Collection

Angeline Oei, born and raised in Singapore, graduated recently from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute with a collection entitled "Aesthetic Composition". The inspiration comes from the world of architecture, which transforms the clothes in textile sculptures, with oversized silhouette and volume of the shoulders in the foreground. Each dress is an attack on the digital society, which standardizes and homologates, reducing the body to two-dimensional entity, removing it its intrinsic complexity. These are the prints made with digital photos to give a sense of three-dimensionality, helped by ad hoc cuts and a mix of different fabrics that give plasticity to the figure. Angelina Oei plays with avant-garde and experimentation, creating a feminine and ethereal, but tinged with melancholy shadows collection.
