The new sacai x Carhartt WIP collaboration for SS24
The new cult of the season
February 14th, 2024
For the upcoming summer season, sacai has once again partnered with Carhartt WIP to create a capsule collection that blends the distinctive design codes of both brands. This collaboration is the result of a creative synergy that combines sacai's innovative aesthetics with the robust and timeless functionality of Carhartt WIP. The collection's advertising campaign features the participation of Detroit's ghettotech trio HiTech and dream pop singer Soo Joo Park. Soo Joo Park's impeccable styling was curated by Karl Templer, while the images capturing the dynamic and urban essence of the collection were shot by renowned photographer Stas Komarovski.
The collection, consisting of 18 pieces, stands out for its ability to deconstruct and reimagine classic work-inspired garments, transforming them into hybrid silhouettes that blend iconic elements of both brands. For example, the Reversible Duck Coat combines two distinctive styles from Carhartt WIP - the iconic Chore Coat and the Siberian Parka - creating a versatile and durable garment, perfect for facing everyday challenges. Similarly, the Suiting Bonding Dress is inspired by the Bib Overall, reinterpreting it in a contemporary and sophisticated way. In addition to the fusion of styles, the collection highlights the skillful use of fabrics and characteristic details of both brands. Carhartt WIP's sturdy Dearborn Canvas fabric merges with sacai's soft wool blend, creating garments that perfectly marry comfort and durability. Elements such as triple stitching, piping, and pocket details are expertly integrated throughout the collection, adding a touch of authenticity and functionality to each piece.
The sacai x Carhartt WIP collection will be available at selected retailers, sacai stores, and online starting from February 22nd
