There is a "double" t-shirt for Barbie and Oppenheimer's release

Barbie and Oppenheimer are perhaps the most anticipated films of the year and, interestingly, both will be released on the same day, July 21. According to some rumors, the date is not coincidental: Warner, which produced Barbie and all of Nolan's other films, has chosen to place its film on the same date as Oppenheimer precisely as a "middle finger" to the British director guilty of breaking off their collaboration. Two souls of cinema that cannot reconcile, but which Twitter user @NotoraEnt, has thoughtfully united by creating a t-shirt combining half of a pink Barbie t-shirt and half of a gray Oppenheimer t-shirt. The original post, on Twitter, has garnered more than six million views.

The T-shirt appeared for sale for $33 on the website Viral Style, sparking enthusiasm among fans of both films and actually going viral overnight. Will it happen like it did in the days of the Minions movie, when numerous moviegoers showed up at the theater in suits just to film themselves and circulate the meme? Perhaps, but one could perhaps also say that the jarring union of Barbie's rose-colored escapism and that of Oppenheimer's somber ruminations is something that captures the spirit of our times in an idiosyncratic and perfect way.
