Marco De Vincenzo is officially the new creative director of Etro, the brand founded in 1968 by Gerolamo Etro and now controlled by private equity fund L. Catterton. The fashion designer will debut his first SS23 collection for the Italian fashion house in September. Fabrizio Cardinali, Etro's Chief Executive Officer, expressed his enthusiasm for the entry of Marco De Vincenzo, who «thanks to his sensibility for colors, prints and fabrics will know how to best interpret Etro's extraordinary heritage with new declinations for the brand's different collections, also giving a new impulse to the world of accessories».
After graduating from the European Institute of Design in 2000, the Messina-born designer joined the Leather Goods department until serving as design director at Fendi while simultaneously founding his own independent clothing line in 2009, which was awarded Alatroma's first Who is on Next? award. First self-produced, then tied to the giant Lvmh until 2020, his eponymous brand went on hiatus during the lockdown. Veronica, Kean and Jacopo Etro will continue to collaborate with the fashion house to continue the brand's development in partnership with L. Catterton.
