Willem Dafoe stars in Calvin Klein and Palace collaboration

Calvin Klein and Palace present CK1 Palace, a collection that combines the minimalism of Calvin Klein with the modern and irreverent style of Palace. The partnership is one of nostalgia, self-expression and inclusivity with a playful and graphic aesthetic, ranging from underwear to denim, t-shirts to fleece, including women's underwear (a first for Palace) and a new fragrance.

The garments play on CK's classic colour palette and feature a custom logo that interweaves the Calvin Klein logo with Palace's iconic Tri-Ferg, bringing the Palace twist to, among other things, the world's most iconic underwear. Basketball jerseys and baggy shorts challenge the idea of traditional sportswear, while the denim in the collection has been meticulously designed with deliberately faded washes, an homage to CK from the 90s that, through modern details and loose fit, fits the present. As a reference to Calvin's American heritage and Palace's roots in skate culture, the brands took the opportunity to present a limited run of 'Calvans', the classic Authentic skate trainer, with Vans. The centrepiece of the collaboration, however, remains the reformulation of the classic CK One fragrance: the world's first unisex scent is transformed to reflect Palace's sensibilities and to accompany generations to come as it has done with those of the past. "I feel so fortunate to launch our first ever fragrance with Calvin Klein," says Palace founder Lev Tanju. While the campaign, shot and directed by photographer Alasdair McLellan is a love letter depicting the dualities of New York and London, the brands' respective locations, while the cast - including Willem Dafoe and Lourdes Leon - takes pride in their uniqueness.
