Dapper Dan has collaborated with Gap
More iconic than Yeezy Gap? More iconic than Yeezy Gap
March 8th, 2022
One designer we don't update often enough is Dapper Dan. Inventor of a completely unique sartorial genre, pioneer of signature bootleg and luxury streetwear, imitated and copied like almost no other designer in New York (except Helmut Lang), Dapper Dan is a cult fashion figure. It makes sense, then, that his collaboration with Gap was announced today with the designer (whose real-life name is Daniel Day, among other things) also becoming the face of the American brand's SS22 campaign. The collaboration between Dapper Dan and Gap resulted in a coral-colored collaborative hoodie that changes the brand's name to "Dap."
At the moment, the hoodie is the only part of the collaboration that is known about. The presence of Dapper Dan as the main protagonist of the campaign, however, gives hope for a larger drop. However, we'll have to wait until next Thursday to see if, in addition to the hoodie, the Harlem-based designer has signed other pieces with Gap. In the meantime, to deceive the wait, you can scroll through the photos of the brand campaign that, in addition to Dan, also include Shalom Harlow, artists such as Kai-Isaiah Jamal, Bryant Giles and CHITO, model Indira Scott, author Georgie Badiel-Liberty and activist Clementine Desseaux.
