Carhartt WIP presents the fifth issue of WIP Magazine With a special launch at the Berlin Reference Festival
To present the fifth issue of its magazine, Carhartt WIP organized two days of art and installations at the Reference Festival in Berlin that featured video works by Oliver Payne, as well as Jess Kohl, Rawtape and a Live-Performance by Paris Aden, the American producer and rising star. Now in its fifth issue, the themes of the new issue include New York's Chinatown as seen by Simonez Wolf and a tribute to British comedian 2000 AD with original artwork created by the likes of Oliver Payne, Ed Davis, Leomi Sadler, Ancco and Skatething.

There is, of course, no shortage of photorealistic paintings created by Carhartt WIP with artist Lucas Price for the launch of the FW21 collection. Painted by Price in London, the works were then shipped to Berlin in a process that later became part of the campaign itself, in which the paintings are photographed in industrial elements related to the art world. With a style typical of Renaissance painting, the works incorporate modern details and elements resulting in a hybrid poised between painting and photography. Price's style makes the works almost indistinguishable, making them resemble photographs in which the Carhartt logo becomes the protagonist of Renaissance scenarios. Price had already collaborated with Carhartt WIP in the past, as on the occasion of the Spring 2021 campaign in which some of the artist's works, under the pseudonym Clay Arlington, were used in a collage.

Issue 05 of WIP Magazine is available now at Carhartt WIP stores and worldwide.
