August 23rd, 2021
Tokyo Design Studio New Balance, the subsidiary brand of New Balance which, with a team made up of half Japanese and half American designers, is dedicated to the development of the most technological and avant-garde concepts of the brand, has signed a new sneaker of the Niobium line. After the modular boot presented last January, in fact, the research sub-brand has collaborated with Snow Peak to create Niobium Concept 2 which owns the sole of Fresh Foam Hierro by New Balance, one of the most famous trail running shoes produced by the American brand, and a detachable strap for the heel that allows you to transform sandals into mules.
The high and asymmetrical sole guarantees the stability and absorption of shocks, also thanks to its honeycomb structure that makes it more flexible. While a layer of Vibram® Mega Grip, offers exceptional grip and traction, even on rough roads. In addition, the upper has been updated with breathable mesh, the strap equipped with a Fidlock magnetic buckle and the toe top are made of highly durable synthetic leather. Finally, high brightness reflectors on the heel and toe top improve visibility and safety after sunset. The collaboration with Snow Peak is based on the idea of the duality of home and camping, imagining a sort of journey to be traveled between the two walking both on concrete and in nature and therefore equitating itself with a double asphalt black and olive green colorway as well as a double functionality of trail sandal and sabot.
