Calvin Klein has unveiled its Pride Month 2021 campaign. Six protagonists, portrayed in intimate and minimal environments, to which are dedicated as many short films that celebrate and retrace the most important moments of their lives. In common, they all have the passion and commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community of which they are part: there are the nonbinary artist Arca, from Barcelona; Chicago DJ and designer Honey Dijon; actor and singer Isaac Cole Powell; activist Kai Isaiah Jamal but also King Princess, singer and producer from Brooklyn; Elite actor Omar Ayuso; artist and model Raisa Flowers and Brazilian queer artist Samuel de Saboia.
The documentation and representation work carried out by the campaign doesn't mark the end of the brand's commitment: Clavin Klein has in fact announced a two-year collaboration with Trevor Project, the world's leading organization for suicide prevention among young people in the LGBTQIA+ community. The brand will use its platforms to make known the tools made available by the organization and will actively strive to promote the inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community. In addition, Calvin Klein will also bring its support to the ILGA (International Lesbian and Gay Association) association for the defense of the rights of members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The brand has also allocated funds to the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund and, along with PVH Corp., continues to support the National Pulse Memorial & Museum (onePULSE Foundation), a nonprofit organization founded by the owner of the Pulse venue after the Orlando massacre on June 12, 2016. The brand's American stores will also host a project registration campaign. The brand's support at the National Pulse & Museum is a response to employees' request to keep colleague Frank Hernandez's memory alive and honour.
