Set to release this fall
August 4th, 2020
Although the end of the lockdown has given many the illusion of a progressive return to normal, for some months now the face mask has been one of the fundamental tools of everyone's daily life and will probably remain so for a long time. It is therefore not surprising that the business around their production continues to grow. Sports clubs are the perfect example: in Italy, two football giants such as Juventus and Inter were among the first to offer their own customized version. But the world of fashion has not been less: despite some doubts about the ethics of this choice, from the outbreak of the health emergency to day several brands and designers have proposed their branded version, from Off-White to Nike, Bape and Takashi Murakami. The last brand to earn its space in this unexpected market is nontheless Ralph Lauren.
The horse brand has show on its official website the preview of two different models of face masks: the first is The Polo Cloth Mask, which boasts 80% particle filtration, while the second is The Polo High-Filtration Mask, a most advanced model with 95% particle filtration. Both models should be released in the fall; they are characterized by the brand logo on the left side and will be available in various colors and in recognizable Polo fabrics, including the famous plaid. According to Ralph Lauren, 50% of the net purchase price of each mask (excluding VAT) will be donated to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO, powered by the UN Foundation.
