TheYeezy Foam Runner are dropping this month
Kanye West revealed it during his last interview on I-D
June 11th, 2020
After showing them to the public for the first time last November, Kanye had made Foam Runner one of Yeezy's most unusual and anticipated releases of the year. With the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic before and, soon after, the outbreak of anti-racist protests following the Floyd murder, their release had gone into the background but in the interview-dialogue between Pharrell Williams and Kanye West published yesterday on I-D, the Yeezy founder revealed that Foam Runners will be made available as early as this month:
«[We’re] sitting here in Wyoming figuring out how to do manufacturing during COVID. The Foam Runners we’re coming out with in June are our first American manufactured items and we gotta figure out how to do localised manufacturing».
First seen last June at the feet of Kanye and Kim's daughter, North West, and then officially unveiled last November during the Fast Company Innovation Festival, the Foam Runners represent one of Yeezy's most experimental silhouettes – also considered as being the first product made within the brand's new American factories as well as made with a foam made from 100% sustainable algae. Later in the year, the Foam Runner appeared in a custom-made version during a fashion show by Ding Yun Zhang, a student at Central Saint Martins, and on A$AP Ferg's Instagram channel in an orange colorway.
