Reebok and Ian Paley, founder of Garbstore and collaborator of the historic brand since 2014, have returned to work together for the creation of a new sneaker: the Zig Kinetica Cocept_Type 1. Paley had started his relationship with Reebok by designing an entire collection in 2014. The new creation of Paley represents a step forward in their collaboration and ranks as the most structured and complex so far.
The shoe comes in
two colorways. The upper consists of a mesh base with overlays ranging from the toe to the heel. Its particularity is given by the apparent lack of seams, which gives the shoe a vaguely futuristic look, accentuated also by the adjustable black mini-strap that closes right above the tongue. The sole is equipped with
Reebok's classic Zig technology, a sole with a zigzag structure that absorbs shocks and scatters them through its structure to push the wearer forward. The sole of the Zig Kinetica consists of three parts: a system of bearings to absorb the impact of the heel on the ground, an Energy Shell that provides stability and durability, and the Energy Web, an elastic structure that promotes forward thrust and improves athletic performance.
The new Zig Kinetica Concept_Type designed by Ian Paley for Reebok is already available online, at Reebok stores and selected retailers around the world.
