PUMA and ROMBAUT join forces in a dizzying collaboration
The ‘Levitation’ sneaker invites us to take a step towards the most aligned version of ourselves
February 26th, 2025
The brand-new collaboration between PUMA and ROMBAUT has arrived, sparking only one desire: to leap forward toward the best version of ourselves—serene and grounded. In a shared quest for a design that is simple yet effective, minimalist yet original, timeless yet modern, the two brands join forces to offer a shoe that strikes the perfect balance between past and futurism. Inspired by PUMA’s archives, active for 75 years, the collaboration draws from Eastern philosophies, known for their restorative virtues and ability to help individuals improve through mindfulness, education, and intentional action. It is an ode to serenity and harmony with nature through its structure, ensuring that whoever wears it, regardless of ego size, stays grounded and deeply connected to the earth.
Indeed, the innovative sole of the "Levitation" features a floating piece at the heel that underpins the shoe’s structure, itself connected to a Formstrip that wraps around the knitted upper, giving the wearer the sensation of walking on a cloud of well-being. The sock accompanying the sole follows the same conceptual language, replacing the knitted upper with a high sock showcasing a prominent ROMBAUT logo. Made from recycled TPU components and synthetic leather, it is 100% vegan, aligning with ROMBAUT’s commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly materials. Recently unveiled during the Paris Fashion Week SS25 as ROMBAUT celebrated its 10th anniversary, the shoe is a call to calm and essentials, reflected in a campaign that explores every detail, blending dream and reality while examining the contrast between Eastern philosophy and hypercapitalism. If levitation symbolizes the pursuit of wisdom—rising above chaos through attention, knowledge, and action—the collaboration between PUMA and ROMBAUT embodies everything one might seek in a sports shoe and more. It invites us to question what elevation truly means and, most importantly, to take that leap toward the best version of ourselves, quietly dormant yet awaiting awakening.
