Streetwear and Eastern culture meet in DEBRAND
Discovered during the latest edition of PITTI UOMO
June 26th, 2019
The 96th edition of PITTI UOMO in Florence offered fashionistas and experts the chance to discover many new and interesting projects.
Among the coolest ones, there is certainly DEBRAND, a label based in Taipei characterized by an innovative way to combine oriental culture tradition and contemporary street culture. A perfect example is Bencao Gangmu, the latest collection inspired by Jiu Zhi Tang, a well-known Chinese medicine factory, which turns the packaging of pharmaceutical products such as the popular Liuwei Dihuang into a captivating series of transversal clothing, able to meet the Western taste. The key pieces of the proposal are printed t-shirts, baggy trousers, dungarees and utilitarian jackets, which mixed together create relaxed looks with strong workwear influences.
DEBRAND is a candidate as the brand capable of telling the story of Chinese street culture to the rest of the fashion world.
