After ERL and Marine Serre, it was just announced that the next guest designer of Pitti Immagine will be MM6 Maison Margiela. During the event, which will be held in Florence from January 14 to 17, 2025, the brand will present a menswear collection created specifically for the occasion, but the location of the show has not yet been revealed. Additionally, MM6 has announced that despite the January commitment, it will return to the calendar for the Milan Fashion Week Womenswear in February. As it represents the ready-to-wear line of Margiela, launched back in 1997, the choice of a brand like MM6 as a guest designer is quite unusual for Pitti Immagine, which has usually chosen emerging brands and designers in the past. The brand launched by the Belgian designer made its debut on the runway in 2012 in New York, moving to Milan in 2020. Born as a womenswear brand, it launched menswear in 2022, just two years ago, presented alongside womenswear during Fashion Week. Participating in Pitti Uomo for MM6 will be, overall, a new challenge for the brand, which has no single creative director, but is led by the entire design team.

«We are honored and excited to be invited as Pitti Uomo’s guest designer this coming January, as part of the world’s most important menswear fashion fair. We intend to bring the style and spirit of MM6, creating a menswear project specifically for Florence», commented the brand regarding the announcement. «After nearly 20 years we are thrilled to return Maison Margiela to the Pitti stage and bring to the fore a contemporary menswear wardrobe that will resonate the attitude, concepts, and processes of MM6.» Along with MM6, it was announced that the second guest designer of the event will be Setchu, a brand founded by Satoshi Kuwata, who in the last year has been awarded two of the most important prizes in the fashion industry, the CNMI Fashion Trust Grant 2023 and the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designer 2023.
