A new custom of the Travis Scott x Nike Air Force 1
The Air Force 1 low designed by La Flame revised with Texan elements
November 23rd, 2018
The hype produced by Travis Scott around his collaboration with Nike was powerful. The Nike Air Force 1 low and the Nike Jordan IV "Houston Oilers" emptied the hypebeasts' wallets from all over the world, while other models of the collaboration between La Flame and Jordan brand were never released, for the sorrow of the worldwide fans.
Travis' nickname, as well as the name of his label, "Cactus Jack", placed on Nike’s model designed by himself, as like as the tribute to the ex Houston’s football team, make us understand how the rapper is proud to his place of birth, Texas, and all its symbols like rodeo and deserts. Meanwhile, those elements are the starting point of Kevin Kribb, Dizz Gavins and Herbi Santana’s concept took the Travis Scott x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Sail” and gave it new life and an original touch, perfectly matched with the rapper’s symbols. In the original version, the swoosh was silver-colored and with a velcro that allowed to put it as you preferred on the shoe. The three American guys have created a new patch, to use instead of the swoosh, an embroidery green cactus with red flowers and spines which perfectly fill the sneaker both in “sail” version and in the green one, which was never released by La Flame. Gum sole and white mid-sole for both, and the detail of a grillz instead of the typical tag on the laces, white in both the colorways. A well-done custom that engaged many passionate.
