It seems that the fashion world is obsessed with just two things: the return of the past and the obsession for the sportswear. In addition there's also the passion for everything that's ugly, an aesthethic category rediscovered by designers, creatives and fashion enthusiasts. The results are plain to see, the daddy shoes have become in the last few years the most sought-after and sold out sneakers. The shoes dads would wear to take their kids to a football match or to birthday parties are now the object of desire of an entire generation of fashionistas. It was just a matter of time before a silhouette so close to all these characteristics would have been taken back in a brand new version.
The ASICS GEL-KAYANO 5 OG was the fifth model of the GEL-KAYANO series, inaugurated in 1993, and that saw this shoe conquer the market in 1999. The Japanese brand has always cared more about substance and performance rather than unnecessary details, and this sneaker was created exactly as a running shoe, designed to offer the highest comfort to all the athletes. In the course of time, it has become a real must-have in the streetwear world.
Now the GEL-KAYANO 5 OG comes back in a new and updated version, that maintains the core features of the original, but incudes additionally the innovative DUOMAX™ e GEL™ technologies, fresh colorways and a new lacing system. The look of the sneaker remains true to the 90's silhouette, but it's the tech aspect to be completely renewed.
In these exclusive shots, the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 5 OG is modeled by two Spanish cool kids, stylist Ana Sotillo and singer Recycledj666.
The past meets the future.
