Nike Sportswear and Skepta together for a new Nike Air Max 97

Nike Sportswear and Skepta pay homage to the Air Max 97 through a new model celebrating the Anglo-Nigerian's artist second home: Morocco.
From this collaboration, comes a sneaker inspired by the sounds and stories of a trip to Essaouira, a popular destination for rock stars in the 1960s and place where Skepta has found a place to bring new ideas into being. From this coastal city and Moroccan pearl, the Air Max 97 Sk is born.

"When we designed the Air Max 97 SK we took into consideration all Morocco's color scheme, but also the colors of the Air Tuned Max 1999, the first sneaker I bought with my savings ... (...) When looking at this 97, I just wanted to feel the way I did when I was a child. And we got there. It's perfect",
is what the grime artist said.
The iconic Air Max 97 model features a series of embroidery inspired by Morocco on the back and on the tongue and a print that resembles what the grime artist lived in those places on the midsole. In the upper part of the Air Max 97 Sk there is an iridescent copped, inspired by the colors of 1999's Air Tuned Max, while the Sk logo is a rework of the classic TN brand logo mixed with the design of a British plug.
