You know: at this time collaborations are the Holy Grail of fashion.
Just hit the right formula, the partnership with the most suitable brand to unleash a global success. Demna and Guram Gvasalia, aka the brothers who dictate the style in the last year, know well the benefits of joining with another label and, thus, for Vetements SS18 choose to join forces with Tommy Hilfiger, Reebok, Umbro, and DHL.
Let’s look at what we know about them until now.
#1 Vetements x Reebok
Great hype partnership is that with Reebok.
The stars of this marriage are the Insta Pump Fury, model already re-edited by Vetements, that returns on the stage alongside checkered slip-ons, all-over print on the uppers, and slip-on chess, Chuck Taylor with all over “Vetements” print, what seems to be an adidas Stan Smith-inspired shoe and a couple of Sock Trainer that many will remember the Balenciaga Speed Trainer.
#2 Vetements x DHL
Just look at the pictures of No Show, chosen by Gvasalia to present the SS18 collection instead of the classic show, with family and ordinary people wearing new clothes Vetements in the streets of Zurich replicating the famous Tyra Banks pose, to find the last two collaborations. The Georgian designer continues to work with the British sportswear company Umbro for a light yellow XXL T-shirt and, above all, with DHL.
An attempt to repeat the success of DHL tee? Maybe, but this time, in addition to the t-shirts, there will also be suede jackets, caps and socks.
#3 Vetements x Umbro
Demna chooses the sportswear giant Umbro to realize a unique garment that is destined to become a must: an acid yellow long-sleeved shirt with an Umbro maxi logo. No updates yet on the fact of a further collaboration between the brands but an Instagram post that let us hope.
#4 Vetements x Tommy Hilfiger
About nine months ago Mr Hilfiger met Guram Gvasalia, executive director of Vetements, to propose a possible collaboration, presented these days via Instagram.
"I was very excited. What they’ve done is quite genius. They have their own rule book. They do what they want and do it when and how they want The fact that a disruptive designer like Demna [Gvasalia] would want to do something with our brand is a tremendous compliment" - says the US designer at WWD and continues enthusiastically commenting on the style of the Georgian duo - "It’s luxe streetwear. Nobody does it better than these guys".
The collection includes a unisex assortment of sweatshirts, t-shirts with Vetements logo on the back and Tommy Hilfiger logo on the front, beanies, and socks in a chromatic palette of melange gray, blue navy, red and fuchsia. All pieces will be available at Vetements distributors in autumn at prices ranging from $ 1,119.60 for the oversized hooded sweatshirt and sleeve raglan to $ 102.80 for a pair of socks.
