Nike releases the Cortez model for the first time in 1972.
A brilliant sneaker under many aspects and expression of the dedication of Bill Bowerman, co-founder of Nike, to the creation of an aesthetic that blends pop culture and technical performance. Originally conceived as a runner shoe, the Nike Cortez soon becomes a symbol of hip-hop style on the west coast, opening up to more street contaminations.
Forty-five years later, Nike Cortez has contributed to maximizing the potential of thousands and thousands of people both on the track and in everyday life. To celebrate this icon, Nike called the model Bella Hadid who wore the shoe in an exclusive photo shoot where she perfectly expresses its playful and rebellious character.
