Bella Hadid is Chopard's new ambassador
And takes Julia Roberts' place
September 2nd, 2024
While there were many clues and fans of the American supermodel were already convinced, it's now official: Bella Hadid is the new ambassador of Chopard, succeeding Julia Roberts. For several red carpets now, the top model has been adorned with Chopard jewelry that does not go unnoticed: last May, she walked the Cannes Film Festival red carpet wearing a stunning Versace mermaid dress complemented by a pair of 18k white gold earrings adorned with 24.12 carats of diamonds and two 18k white gold rings also set with diamonds. She had already chosen Chopard as her jeweler of choice for the 71st edition of the Festival in 2021, where she wore a gorgeous Jean-Paul Gaultier gown from the SS2002 collection, accessorized with an extravagant pair of white gold drop earrings and rings.
The new Chopard campaign, starring Bella Hadid, launched on September 1st and includes 6 shots captured by the talented Alasdair McLellan. This nomination represents what officials have called a "new chapter" for Chopard. But it also marks a new chapter for the top model, who had just returned from a long professional break. Indeed, the model decided to step away from fashion and modeling for a few months to prioritize her mental and physical health. So it was to a ranch in Texas that she went in search of peace, and found it, for she returns today stronger than ever, willing to sign contracts if and only if they are in harmony with her desires and needs. And it seems Chopard fits that bill, as she recently expressed her deep appreciation and admiration for the Swiss Maison and its work over the years.
"Bella embodies the spirit of Chopard: an effortless blend of elegance and joie de vivre, which is truly enchanting and perfectly resonates with what our watches and jewelry represent. We are thrilled to embark on this new journey together," said Caroline Scheufele, co-president and artistic director of Chopard, in a statement. It’s a collaboration that seems to make everyone happy, with the star honored to represent the brand and the brand pleased to be represented by a figure like Bella Hadid. The result is nothing short of satisfying: in the campaign unveiled yesterday, the model’s mesmerizing beauty and the jewelry are highlighted through simple yet effective shots. With her hair tied back, her face clear, and her doe eyes emphasized with a touch of eyeliner, Chopard's Haute Joaillerie, Happy Hearts, Happy Sport, Happy Diamonds, Ice Cube, and Alpine Eagle collections are elegantly showcased. A project quite different from the latest ventures launched by the top model, such as her non-alcoholic alternative beverage company Kin Euphorics and her fragrance line Orebella, yet one that resonates with the new Bella, whom we are excited to see more of, whether with Chopard or elsewhere.
