How are you living the quarantine: fears and dreams?
As a freelancer and independent creative in NY, I've always dealt with the first sense of fear you can come up within the city: work and money. I got used to it and I’ve no fear for it. Since you step in NYC you are pushed to work aggressively, and this unconditional stop puts you in an unusual state of mind where you've actually been forced to think deeply or re-think. Of course, I was accompanied by the fear of getting sick, in such selfish system which is the US. In the other hand, my dream is to seat for 8 hours straight in Gaeta’s beaches where I spent a big part of my childhood in a sort of dolce vita/hippy community in the early ’80s. The idea of not be able to move freely is, to me, the most affecting aspect of this globalized lockdown.
I'm spending most of my time shooting my block from my 13th floor heigh rooftop. I’m not so much into sports activities and never got into Zoom’s chats, Instagram lives, tutorials... I dislike preachers in all their forms and IG life coaches; I actually appreciate those people from the industry and artists that really took time from this and not felt pushed by overproducing contents and sharing at all costs. Overall I feel positive that most of us will come out with a more thoughtful and energized approach.
What is your soundtrack?
WBGO radio of New Jersey. A jazz OG station. But often diving into Italian classics such as Casino Royale, Colle Der Fomento, SXM and getting lost in Mina and Vanoni.
