Maserati's new car sounds by music artist Dardust
Automotive and sound design together for a 360° driving experience

Maserati has just announced that it has partnered with Dardust to create the beeps and chimes of its new models. Dario Faini, aka Dardust, is perhaps one of the main Italian producers and musical authors, with several platinum records behind him, collaborations with the main Italian pop artists (in the last edition of the Sanremo festival, he was competing with five different songs, each sung by a different singer) including above all Mahmood and Elodie. For Maserati, Dardust has created the future acoustic signature of the brand that with the technological advancement of its models has begun to structure the driving experience in an even more sophisticated way. Being a music producer we also escaped the soundtrack for an advertisement, that of the new Levante Hybrid model while the first Maserati to have the new sounds signed by Dardust the new Granturismo model.
In the process of developing a car, Maserati engineers decided to use a holistic approach, which goes beyond simple mechanics and speaks with the mind of the driver – also through the so-called chimes, or the acoustic feedback of the car, such as driver assistance signals, direction indicators, interaction with the different controls or the reminder of the seat belt. It was precisely this holistic approach that was why Maserati found wide common ground with Dardust's careful and creative experimentalism. With this partnership, for the first time a strictly engineering theme was addressed with new instruments, creating a 100% customizable onboard sound experience and indicating the future path of luxury carmaking with all its huge creative possibilities.
