Between the Balenciaga and Jean-Paul Gaultier by Oliver Rousteing shows, Paris Couture Week returned in full force after the long phase of digital or spaced-out shows of past years. And if the collections that came down the runway experimented as much with the material as with the idea of beauty itself, the audience swarming from location to location was no less. After all, couture is still couture.
