Who, in childhood did not dreamed of having a tree house to play, relaxing and isolate himself a bit from the world? And if instead of the tree, it was around the tree? Probably from came the idea of the Kazakh architect Aibek Almasov and his colleagues at study Masow Architects for the construction of this childhood dream, then become one of their most interesting projects. Actually it all started with the request of a thirty-eight wealthy businessman from Almaty, who wanted a space for meditation, quiet and intimate, where to relax and spend time in the company of friends away from the hectic city life.
"Tree in the house", explains Almasov,
"wants to offer an alternative to the bustle of city life, managing to put together a protective and warm environment without creating a visual separation with the surrounding nature". The building, built in just five months at a cost of about $ 370 million, is made of glass with a low reflectance and a photovoltaic membrane.
All elements that absorb the sun's heat, making the place self-sufficient, limiting energy consumption and allowing the plant to survive.
The house, winds around a fir tree of 40 meters and is formed by a cylinder which encloses a series of rings, each of which corresponds to a connected floor with the other through a spiral staircase. On the ground floor there are the services and the kitchen, on the second the living room, a relaxation area and a study corner. On the third ring there is the bedroom, while at the top ring, there is a viewpoint from which to observe the dense surrounding forest.
Tree in the House is a wonderful place, halfway between tradition and innovation, the perfect combination of modern design, the latest technology bio and romantic dream of when we were kids.
